Ice Breaker Questions about Myself

What is your previous computer experience?

In the world of visual arts, I barely have used computers for my works. I'm pretty familiar with the whole Microsoft Office, getting information from the internet, and how to function my computer. I recently bought a Wacom graphics tablet and have been teaching myself how to draw on it by experimentation and watching some tutorials.

What do you hope to get out of this class?

I do not have any set expectations as yet but I am pretty excited about learning Photoshop and Illustrator because they seem so interesting and very new to me.

What is the relationship between computers and visual studies?

Visual Studies is basically the study of the communication, history, philosophy, and contextual significance in Visual Arts. More like the observers and researchers of the background of Art. How does it relate to computers? Well, using a computer is just another medium in Visual Arts, so any art work done with a computer, can come under the technicalities of Visual Studies.

What is your experience with Photoshop and Illustrator?

No experience at all. 

Do you have a computer at home? If so dose it have Photoshop and Illustrator?

Yes I have a laptop and no it does not have those softwares. I just have Corel Painter Essentials. 

Do you have Mac or PC?

I have a Mac. 

Who is your favorite artist?

My favorite artists are Kathe Kollwitz, Gustav Klimt, Cristina Otero, mainly those related to Expressionism

Who is your favorite musician? 

I have a lot of favorite musician's, which differ depending on my mood. Some which come to my mind as of now are Alt-J, Arctic Monkeys, and Zella Day.

Tell me something interesting about yourself?

I have lived in many places in my life and consider myself as a "Third Culture Kid".

Write a five line story?

Let me just talk about where I have lived. I was born in Ohio. Lived in Pattaya, Thailand for a year as a baby. Moved back to Ohio for another 7 years. When I was 9, because of my dad's job, my family and I moved to India, to a city called Pune. I was there for 7 amazing years. When I was 16, I moved to another city in India, which is Hyderabad. We went there since most of my relatives are there. Throughout my school life in India, I went to International Schools and graduated doing the IB.
