Accomplishments

Digital Imaging class is one of my favorite classes of this semester. Since I never had any experience with art on the technological side, this was definitely intriguing and fun. The project that I am most proud of is the coaster assignment. Through my two coasters, I had addressed the hypocrisy of modesty in Indian culture. I got a lot of appreciation for it because I used a serious cause in my artworks, which I have been trying to implement recently.

An accomplishment that is outside class is actually pretty recent. I write for a college website called Society 19. One of my articles got published last week and it went viral! It resulted in getting 10,058 views and 562 shares, so I got recognized for the most read article of the week. This was definitely awarding to me. Also, I am now the Editor in Chief for the Society 19 Temple Chapter. Really honored about what I have achieved.

A typical day

A typical day for me would definitely start out with waking up and taking a shower right after, on weekdays. Weekends, I never have a set schedule and whatever I do just depends on my work and errands and commitments. So, I'll be talking about a weekday.

 - I always get a cup of coffee from the Artist's Palette.
 - If I don't have much work, I manage to take a nap once I'm done with classes for the day.
 - Facetime my mom twice a day for sure, otherwise she will go ballistic on me.

Newest Addition: Calling my boy on facetime once a day, at least.

Something that I'd to change: Reduce to talking to my mom to once a day because I'm growing up and still feel like a child to be looked after. It's going to be a hard process for her to understand and eventually accept, but I'm hoping that it will happen.

My Collarbone part 2

concentrated on shading

My Zine

My Zine is about the Guerrilla Girls, a feminist activist group revolving around the idea of sexism present in the art world, especially in world renowned museums in New York City, such as the Met, MOMA, and the Guggenheim. The content of the zine has a cover page, hopefully visualising the content or what the reader will get to know inside the zine.

I've chosen this topic because I'm a feminist and pretty big on it. I feel like I should use art as a platform to create an impact and influence people about social issues. I have the privilege to do that, so I should use it. I was drawn to these lively girls because I had never had the trace of thought about women artists not having the opportunity to exhibit their works easily compared to men. So, I wanted to work upon this topic.

Inspirational Artist: Henri Matisse

He was one of my influential artists during my IBDP.  I took the characteristics of Fauvism from Portrait of Madame Matisse and made my own self portrait.

Beginning of the Collar Bone Selfie

Young Me

Well, I knew that I wanted to pursue art since I was very young. Nothing really impacted me or not that I can recall of, at a young age that drove me to wanting to become an artist. My mom would save my drawings and kept making stuff everyday, I was highly encouraged to whatever I was doing. I never really thought of any other field as a prospective career path.
